John Reese Publishes Report on Future of Internet Marketing

Hi,

John Reese just sent an email with a report on the future of Internet Marketing.  I admire his work and think you should listen to every single word he has to say.  He's brilliant!

It's a confirmation of what I have felt for a long time.  I planned on video marketing for some time now (and even have video templates for it) and will now focus on creating sales messages instead of sales pages.  Selling with video will be like TV on websites, telling stories and sharing information instead of hard-selling — I like this and it fits what I'm already doing, but I needed to find a way to market it properly.

The Internet will be "TV on steroids", on millions, if not billions, of websites!!!

Here's the link to his blog:

Just follow directions to download the 53 page report for free.  He also gives an update on his forthcoming INCOME.COM.

Great stuff!!

New Advertising Program and Free Interview: John Reese and ShoeMoney.com

I used to like to receive a lot of marketing offers by email.  It gave me a chance to see how it works - marketing by email - how to write sales letters, emails, how to follow-up, etc, but lately, I have been removing my name and main email account from a lot of "lists".  I was receiving the same offers, over and over again.  The same rehashed information.  And some of the senders, the "gurus" were sending me offers at least twice a day.  Although these are great marketing tools, the popularity of teleseminars, webinars and viral videos, ebooks and reports of late has precipitated my name getting on lists threefold, fourfold and even eightfold because I would be required to fill in my name an email for every single one of them, even though I was already on  their lists. Of course, this is probably how their  income have exploded - by marketing through this media but using email marketing to make contact with people who are ready to buy.

I have also noticed lately that I am receiving offers from senders whom I have never opted in with.  One day, when one of the guys was marketing someone, a whole bunch of marketers lined up to send out offers for this person's products - a complete newbie on the scene. I decided then and there to remove myself from all but a few lists.  I must have been on every single list that this person's product was peddled on.

But I continue to receive mail from certain people - from marketers who are not pimping their lists and who are not trying to shove every new (or re-invented old)  product and/or opportunity down my throat.

One of them is John Reese. Here is a free interview conducted by John Reese where you don't have to give your email address or be bombarded with several emails just to listen to the darn interview.

It's about a new advertising program and offers the opportunity to make upwards of $150 and even more from a single click.  This sounds fantastic so I signed up at once and will give it a try.

Aparently, the guy to created the system has found a way to use some powerful technology to optimize the ads and the ebay 'network' offers higher payouts than you could ever get on your own.  It even "geotargets" ads based on a visitor's location so you can earn massive payouts from people going to all the eBay country-specific sites.

eBay is already paying over $20.00 per new user that gets referred to their site, and while this program can
easily make you those referral commissions, it goes wayyyyy beyond that.

You get a % of the eBay fees any new referred user spends (in a certain period of time) AND this new service knows when to send visitors, for example,
to like eBay Germany (for German users) where the referral payouts are even higher than eBay USA users.

John Reese recently interviewed the creator of this new program for nearly TWO HOURS where they talked about all kinds of tips and tricks for making more money from any web site — tons of stuff that had nothing to do with this new program.

He says that this interview has more value than most paid ebooks!

Here's the interview on Income.com:  http://www.income.com/newinterview.html

Jeff Johnson on Project Management

Jeff Johnson of Traffic King Pro, was interviewed by Dr. Mike
for an outsourcing product he released earlier this year.
I believe the product was sold for five or six hundred dollars.

The product is no longer for sale but here's a free copy of the interview.
Dr Mike and Howie picked Jeff Johnson's brain for well over an hour.

"Do More Than What's Expected of You"

I wasn't going to write yet another post about John Reese so soon, but he published a video on his blog located at http://www.income.com/blog

This was where I was one of the speakers at the StomperNet seminar in Orlando, where John was the main speaker, telling us to "Do more that what's expected of you".  After getting over the chock of seeing myself on stage, I finally got up the nerve to write about it.  I have to thank John  for the reminder to do more than what people expect of me.  I can't agree with him more, but one thing I beg to differ on is that it is those that work the hardest that succeed.

I can honestly say that I worked extremely hard to be on that stage, even if I was surprised that I was one of the chosen few; it’s not a matter of comparing “who worked the hardest”, but who did the things that led to success. Oftentimes, it’s not about working harder, but working more effectively.  Learning to do the right things in the right way at the right time for that particular situation.

At any rate, doing more than what's expected of you will earn you more friends and money and is in total alignment with the philosophies that I often write about and strive to live by.  Thanks, again, John.

Angela

Get Traffic Through BLOGRUSH - History In The Making

John Reese just released the first part of his new Income.com.

BlogRush is the name of the service they have finally released
(after many months of development). It’s a free service that will
help any blogger generate more traffic and readers for their blog.

Using RSS technology and some of their own new technology,
they’ve built an amazing platform to help bloggers receive
“mass distribution” for their content across the Internet.
And their system doesn’t spam or abuse the Internet in anyway.
And it doesn’t try and ‘game’ Google either.

What a fresh approach.  I congratulate John Reese and his co-workers
for coming out with such a novel idea and look forward to using it.

Here's a link to join BlogRush:

You can see it in action here in this blog to the right.

Happy Blogging and Much Traffic To You!

Angela Wickenberg

P.S.  My new website is coming along nicely, behind the scenes
and will be re-launched very soon.

P.S.S. Stay tuned to this blog for coming news!

Ode to Yahoo (Overture) Inventory Tool

http://www.dmnews.com/cms/dm-news/search-marketing/39752.html

The above link leads to the article below:

Why is it that we never truly appreciate something’s value until it is gone? For years the public Yahoo inventory tool was frequently shot down for its inaccuracy. Today, as it is dying a slow death, the industry realizes just how significant the tool was in shaping our industry.

Launched as the Overture Search Term Suggestion Tool, the Web-based application allows users to determine the number of times a word is searched across the Yahoo network during the previous month. Perhaps more interestingly, up to 100 derivatives of this keyword are provided along with search volume. Clicking on a derivative generates yet another list of derivatives, displaying a powerful visual of the long tail in just a few minutes.

In discussing this topic with industry experts, Kevin Lee of Did-It said, “Nothing beat the Overture inventory tool for illustrating the long tail of keyword queries to marketers. Letting them pick the keyword was so powerful.” So while John Battelle’s concept of “the database of intentions” might be based on what is under Google’s hood, it was Yahoo that first put this data in the hands of everyday people.

Clearly, the tool has been a primary source of research for many a search marketer for pitches, proposals or actual campaigns. For those with dedication, tracking queries over an extended period of time informed seasonality, changing consumer tastes or even the search effect of offline media campaigns.

During my SEM agency days, I frequently pulled up the tool in meetings and shot from the hip. In just a few minutes, I could not only describe the target market’s behavior, but quantify it as well. It never ceased to amaze those on the other side of the table. Exclamations such as “But why are people searching for that product? We discontinued it two years ago!” quickly materialized into minor consumer behavior revelations.

Over the years, other tools came into vogue as industry leaders criticized accuracy of the tool’s estimated volume as well as the editorial aspect.

Today, pragmatists such as Andrew Wagner of Trafficbuyer Digital agree that the tool is both directional and helpful. Andy Beal of MarketingPilgrim said, “The numbers were never accurate, despite our many years of trying to apply a multiplier that would lead to a fair representation of actual search frequencies.” Mr. Lee also agreed: “The data was always taken with a grain of salt, but having counts presented, even when they were obviously inaccurate, brought the data to life.”

It wasn’t until I held a recent Search 101 seminar that I realized just how much the tool had aged. Like an elder relative, the tool fell asleep frequently at the table. Sometimes it just didn’t make any sense at all. On a call with some Yahoo employees, my greatest fears were confirmed: The tool would not longer be supported in the near future.

So where to turn now that the tool’s days are numbered? Hugh Burnham of RareMethod suggested that the Trellian Keyword Discovery tool, coupled with MSN adCenter research, helps him gain insight as to how and where to advertise most effectively.

For Mr. Lee, his team long since turned to internal tools, though he is pleased to see keyword research functionality incorporated in some APIs, allowing technologists to combine data from multiple sources.

Danny Sullivan of SearchEngineLand.com said that the Google AdWords tool is now his first stop. This, of course, was not without a heartfelt expression of sorrow: “I’ll absolutely miss that little bugger.”

Finalist at StomperNet Live in Orlando

This weekend, I was flown in from Stockholm to Orlando by StomperNet to participate in the beginner fast track competition as a finalist!  I joined StomperNet in late October 2006 with the intention of gaining knowledge of SEO and other methods of gaining natural traffic. Since I am a non-technie kind of person, the creation of websites and blogs is quite an accomplishment in itself.

Although I live in Sweden, I was born and raised in a family from Louisiana that migrated to Los Angeles. I often feel I would like to move back home. My most immediate concern and goal with my business, of course, is to support my family, but I want to become hugely successful, too.   I sold my car and took out loans to go into business last fall, so I think that shows the degree of my commitment.

I am both emotional and passionate, and so I have poetically espressed the trials and tribulations of being the single mother of four children - one at university - with a large house note and of starting up a business from scratch.

A version of my presentation will be divided up in articles, where I may or may not expand concepts, on this blog, as well as the lyrics to the song that I wrote in connection to my application.  Hopefully, I will also successfully record the song and upload it. Earlier attempts weren't very promising. Not being a professional singer, I am self-conscious of uploading an inferior product.  I promised to give freebie info and products to my fellow Stompers and readers; and who better to do this than someone like me who has had to find all the free resources possible in order for my business to survive! I have collected this information over the past few years, and will soon re-organize my blog so that they are uploaded and more easily found and accessed.  More to come on this in the coming weeks.

Prior to the trip, my youngest son caught the flu and all of the others caught bad colds, so life was hectic before leaving. I was lucky to have escaped getting ill myself - just a sore throat.  After the 24 hours of travelling time, including layovers and missed planes, I finally arrived to the seminar, but only a few hours late.  I met a lot of fantastic people whom I admire; John Reese, who had a rare appearance as the Keynote Speaker, Andy Jenkins, Brad Fallon and Ben Mack, whose book I had just started reading, to name a few. It's surprising how gracious and generous these famous marketers are!  My camera was broken, but Sharon Odom Fling in the photos was so kind as to take a few with her camera.  Thanks Sharon!  Here are some of the photos from the seminar. 1st  photo: John Reese. 2nd photo: Andy Jenkins. 3rd photo: Brad Fallon. 4th photo: Ben Mack. Group photo with my new friend Sharon Odom Fling. I am Angela, the lady in red.

I didn't win the competition, Britt Taylor did, as well as the surprise gift of a BMW M5, presented by John Reese, but I had the chance to touch the hearts and minds of many others in my presentation and feel that, in a sense, I am also a winner in this competition and that my relationship to StomperNet is more than a mere passing fling.
