Just by referring three people you get access to high PR backlinks, which normally can cost a lot of money. I have gotten PR 3 on my website now by associating with just three high PR sites -espeically when I had written about Brad Fallon and FreeIQ. It seems that a few people picked up on the post. If you're not already a member, you can join here for free and get your own blog there, as well as access to a lot of great info.
I have started to submit to directories to get one-way backlinks, too, but I won't be able to report on the effect of that until a couple of months have past. But it has to be done in a certain way so that Google will not penalize you. Once I deleted the links page, my Alexaranking shot from about 2.6 million down to 700,000 again. Some links are dead weight.
One thing I am certain of, that my blog, which I created in SemioLogicPro, is the main reason for my quick rise in PR ranking and getting more and more traffic. Jack Humphrey, who wrote Authority BlackBook, (link for free download on blog) recommended building websites in blogs and the SemioLogic theme is really what he uses, so I'm probably going to rebuild the entire site in SemioLogic Pro, which even a technophobe like me could build a site in. And they have the best support imaginable and helped me a lot with the set up and all of my thousands of questions.
One thing I am certain of now: It is imperative to partner with someone or a few people on some things because this business is too much to do all on one's own. We need to cooperate with lots of different people in various areas to get more done - we need to leverage our information, our tools and our expertise - put our minds together and get more done. One way or another. We need to join groups or create our own mastermind groups. Let me know if you would like more info.
I mentioned in a post the other day that my Adwords search campaigns are more expensive - they are getting a lot of clicks but fewer buyers. Especially the long tail terms were being penalized and so I had to change them a lot to keep the budget at a reasonable level, or simply delete those particular terms. I think this happened after the Google algorithm change last week. See my post below.
